Miam! Miam!

While in France this past summer, I had a delicious meal consisting of ground beef, mashed potatoes, and vegetables, however, I could not remember the name of this dish.  I asked Julia, our cultural advisor at La Maison, and she said it was called hachis parmentier. While looking it up online, I found a blog not unlike the Pioneer Woman, where a French woman living in Boston is always writing about her cooking, including many interesting and unique dishes that I would love to someday prepare myself!

I have a feeling that eventually I will be making several of her dishes, and keep up with her new ideas & stories at the same time. For those of you who are interested, it is http://www.latartinegourmande.com/. In the mean time...
Hachis Parmentier!!!

The Missing Month

So what did I do over break? Good question. A LOT!
Christmas:
My family stayed home & relaxed. I got several gifts that I am very happy with:
An insane amount of my favoirite tea:)

My favorite perfume; SJP NYC

And the Holga camera from my previous blog!
Lights at the Zoo:
Although it was very crowded, the zoo was so pretty and even though most lights were the same as the last few years, there were some fun new ones, plus all had been converted to LED, which was actually kind of dizzying.  There weren't many animals out, but we did see the Polar Bears...and thats pretty much it.

New Years:
My family went to Cincinnati to visit my mom's cousin, Dale, his wife Judy, their sons Michael and Ryan, Michael's wife Lindsay, Judy's two brothers, their friend Ed, our family friend, Rob, and his girlfriend Patty. Whew! What a crowd!

Just a few of us...
The best part was we got nearly everybody to play Just Dance 2, the game I got for Mom for Christmas. Surprisingly, Ed was the best out of all of us!
(l to r): Morgan, Dad, Judy, and Ed
All of the girls had to wear tiaras. We are princesses, after all ;)

Celebrating outside in freak 65 degree weather!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

After midnight
This is a rather long post, so I will stop for now, and continue later with Chicago (see video below for more on that)!

Amusez-vous bien~

Coup d'oeil de mes vacances!

Me and my best friend Melissa in Chicago!!!
Nous sommes trés bizarre!

À la prochaine~

Désolé!

Ok, ok, so I haven't been the most dedicated blogger; far from it. I really don't have much of an excuse, other than the fact that I was on winter break, which left me much more time for lazing around and dealing with the holidays that I didn't spend much time on the computer or doing much of anything progressive. Once classes started back up, I continued my lack of blogs for two reasons:

1. All of my classes in an overloaded scheduling (I have to deal with calculus the most-roughly 15 hours a week, 5 of classes, 10 of homework and studying-yuck!)
2. I was ashamed of the fact that I had stopped writing for so long that I really wasn't sure I wanted to get into the blogs anymore.

So here's my promise:
Though I know for a fact (being who I am and learning from past experiences) that I will miss many days with my blogs, especially on school breaks, I will try to keep up with my blogs, even if that means only writing on days that I have something to say, or when I feel like it, with absolutely no pattern whatsoever as to one-a-day,-week,-month, or so on.

I hope you had a great break, and I look forward to sharing my photos of what I did this past holiday season.
