I Freaking Love Technology!

For the last few nights, due to excessive studying, I haven't been making my blogs a priority, and have been using my iPod Touch when in bed to write out a quick note.  I typically don't use a touch screen for typing, so it was a pain, and last night, after writing a pretty long message, I accidentally deleted it! I freaked out, and was exhausted, so I knew that I wasn't going to try & type it up again. I typed up a short message, and sent it, hoping it would be acceptable before realizing that with my beloved blogger.com, the messages automatically save every so often in case of such events, similar to what Microsoft Word does.  To my relief, the entire message I had written, up to the last word was saved, and I was able to post it.

This is just one of the reasons why technology is soooo awesome, and I would not be able to survive without it.

À demain~

One Last Hurdle...

I had my French and math exams today which hopefully went well, though im still pretty nervous about math. I got a 93% on my French oral which i am sooo happy about too! Last will be my business presentation, but no problem! The only thing that could make this better would be a heat wave...and maybe a homecooked meal. But the heater is fixed and only two days until i get proper food again-i hope i can last!

My major finals are over so i will soon be back to more detailed blogs-and pictures! Until then, bonne nuit~

Just a Quick Note!

I've been studying for exams nearly all day. I had my French oral today, which went really well so fingers crossed! My actual French exam is tomorrow at 8:30 am-eeek! After that is math, so I'm nervous but hopefully everything will go well.

Until tomorrow, audieu~

Joyeux Anniversaire!

Today was my birthday, and this weekend has been pretty busy because of it. On Thursday, before the Holiday Dinner at La Maison, my mom stopped by and brought me a present to share with the girls at the house...

Mini cupcakes-HoHos and Lemon-Raspberry, with chocolate Eiffel Towers and Fleurs-de-Lis! Sooo good!

Friday, my mom came for lunch at BG, and so I took her to the Bowling Greenery. Fancy, right? ;) We went home, and went to the Manor House (which I talk about in a previous blog), eat Five Guys Burgers, open some presents (EXTERNAL HARDDRIVE!-I know, I'm a total geek), and have cake.

Saturday, go shopping with my dad, go to Sidecut with Riley (my dog to those who might not know, pics up later), and spend time at Sam's house, where we watched chick flicks, hung out with her boyfriend, Sam (yes, it's confusing), and she made me a spice cake!

And finally, today, I woke up late (12 hours of sleep!!!), my mom, dad, and I went to Longhorn Steakhouse, then I opened the last of my presents (I got Elf on DVD, I'm so happy!).  I came back to school, where the girls had all signed a birthday card for me, and Therese had made me a birthday cake (Thank you so much, it was delicious!). We watched Scott Pilgrim, and I am now studying for exams which start tomorrow.

All in all, it was a good birthday weekend, and I got three birthday cakes out of it.  And really, could a girl ask for any more than that? ;)

Wish me luck on my exams, bonne nuit~

Jingle Bells!

Christmas is just around the corner, and I've been seeing signs of it everywhere!!! On the radio, the only music seems to be Christmas carols, there is snow everywhere, Christmas lights hanging, and decorations at all the stores and malls.  We even visited the Manor House yesterday! As a tradition that normally happens on my birthday for the last three years, we went two days before my birthday this year.  To those who may not know what the Manor House is, exactly, it's a mansion in Toledo that every winter is decorated for Christmas, and each room has a seperate theme.
Another thing I have been enjoying quite a bit this season is curling up by the window, watching snow fall, eating gingerbread, drinking Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate, and watching Christmas movies, especially Elf and the Polar Express. It's perfect!

Happy holidays, enjoy the weather, and à demain~

What's on my iPod: December 2010

For the last few months, my "neighbor" Elisha and I have been trading music because both of us have similar tastes, but tend to listen to more of the underground alternative music, so theres a lot that one of us may like that the other hasn't heard of.  My favorite of her music, that I am constantly listening to now is The Spill Canvas, especially Our Song. Check it out:

Awesome, right?  I'm also really liking The Ready Set- Love Like Woe (Which I'm sure you've heard on the radio), and Carlotta- The Queen (Which has a music video on YouTube, but no mp3, because they broke up really soon after making the video).  A few other groups I'm listening to include Armor For Sleep (specifically the album What To Do When You Are Dead), The Offspring (of course), The Pretty Reckless, Eminem, the soundtrack to Chansons d'amour (an AWESOME French movie), and The Click Five album Greetings From Imrie House, which reminds me of middle school when the album first came out :)

Joyeux Vendredi~

Is the Semester Over Yet?

Only two more classes and three days of finals left and I am free! I cannot wait for Christmas Break!  Luckily, I am completely done with my writing class (GSW 1100, for anyone who may know what that means), but unfortunately that doesn't make my workload any smaller.

To top it all off, La Maison Française has their Christmas Dinner (or to be politically correct, Holiday Dinner) tonight, which means all of us have been about 50 times busier than usual, planning, cooking, decorating, etc. I'm looking forward to the food, though: Turkey, Crab, Avocado, Buche de Noel(Yule Log), and more!

It's a good thing we're having this dinner tonight, I'm getting so sick of cafeteria food, one of the major reasons I am so excited to be home--homecooked dinners, yum!

So for all of you stressing over the end of the semester, it might seem far off, and there may be a lot you have to do before you can go home for the holidays, but it's only 1 week! We can do it!! Bon courage~

Say Cheese!

One of my favorite pastimes is photography.  Unfortunately, I have never been great with taking the actual pictures--they always seem much nicer in my mind.  This could possibly be due to my camera.  I have only had two digital cameras, both Nikon Coolpix, and they never work in the way that I want.  They take too long to turn on, take the picture, and most of the time, the picture ends up too bright (due to unneccessary flash), or blurry.
Like this one
On some rare occasions, I can use my mom's camera, a Nikon D9, which is awesome, but the quality is still subpar.  Especially when I want a picture to turn out high-def and artsy, and it ends up like this:
Not so great, huh?
Today, while browsing absentmindedly online, I came across the Holga, an AMAZING camera that takes the best, most artistic photos, and is only $70.
Such a retro boxy camera-I love it!
And that's not the best part.  Each picture is captured in a dreamy-looking scene.  You can even change to black and white photographs, add red gel to the picture to change the color up, or take picture on top of picture using just this camera! Forget Picasa!
All I can say now is when is mine going to be here?!?
Until tomorrow, À vos rêves~

Here Goes Nothing...

Since I'm feeling pretty ambitious, I will be starting a daily blog, with the random thoughts and opinions that run through my head on a daily basis.  As an avid vlog watcher (CTFxC, anyone?), I don't see why I can't do the same thing-A blog each day for a year (and hopefully longer!).  Most of these people start their blogs on their birthday, but seeing as mine is in only 5 days, why not start now?
And even if this is my current intention, and I don't fulfill my goal (which is most likely going to happen, based on past experience with diaries and such) I can still use this blog for random thoughts on a weekly/monthly/whenever I feel like it basis.
So for this, my first of hopefully many blogs, I bid you audieu, and to be continued~
